5) OFFICERS REPORTS
Roy Allam (Ach Sch Co-Ord) reported that some clubs are not reporting committee changes to the Area Sec, to be passed on to the office.

Chris Bromley (Area Chairman) said that the correct procedure was to inform the office in writing.

Derek Gilbert (Area Treasurer) the Area's funds now stood at around £2918.

David Lloyd Jones (Area Pro) informed the meeting that a new club had formed at Winsford. It's founder works for BASF and obtained a quantity of Tee shirts etc. with just BASF on them. The new club is now known as Brownies All Star Flyers, quite clever?

Wayne Pendleton (Area RC Comp Sec) reported that everything was in place for the Area Fly-In.

Geof Pomfret (Area Scale Comp Sec) stated that he had sent out 43 entry forms for the Eddie Ridding event at Woodvale. And that he had acquired £250 worth of prizes for the competition.

David Lloyd Jones (Area Pro) was asked to write to the Woodvale organisers and point out the mutual benefit of the competition being held there.
ACTION DLJ

Sue Reeves (Area Ed Co-Ord) reported that she along with Steve Ogden (Area Sec) and Brian Tindell had spent an afternoon at Dorian Park, a special school near Chester. Brian had travelled all the way down from Blackpool to attend. It was a great success and it is hoped to repeat the session next year. Sue also reported on a Fun-Copter workshop (which was very busy) held at the Potteries Museum Stoke-on-Trent she was assisted by Steve Ogden and David Lloyd Jones (Area Pro). It is hoped to repeat this at a later date.

6) COUNCIL AGENDA
Mike Colling (Area Delegate) informed the meeting that the office had already submitted an objection to the proposed changes to the 28-day rule. He added that we needed to submit better applications for FAI awards with supporting dialogue of no more that 100 words.
Mike added that he felt it no longer appropriate to submit a verbal NW Area report but that he did not really have the time to write one. It was suggested that each Area officer supply a report in turn. Chris Bromley (Area Chairman) suggested that Sue Reeves submit the first, Sue Reeves (Area Ed Co-Ord) said that she would supply the first report providing other officers follow suit..

The meeting voiced some concerns over the appointment of a ACE where to majority had abstained from voting on the issue.

7) NW AREA FLY-IN / RC INDOOR FLY-IN
Wayne Pendleton (Area RC Comp sec) reported that everything were in motion. Although he was a little disappointed that BMFA News had published the wrong date. Steve Ogden (Area Sec) asked David Lloyd Jones (Area PRO) if he had made any progress with finding a venue for another NW Area RC Indoor Fly-in. DLJ replied that he had made no progress as yet.

8) AOB
Steve Ogden (Area Sec) informed the meeting that Tom Anyon would not be continuing as editor of PNW and that a successor was needed. The meeting talked about the issue and it was suggested that Martyn Thatcher could be an ideal candidate. The meeting felt it was wise to ask Martyn to attend the next meeting to discuss the matter.
ACTION AREA SEC

David Lloyd Jones (Area Pro) felt that the rules for claiming expenses are still far too woolly and need clarification. After some discussion the meeting felt that the status quo should remain with the provision that clubs asking for a talk to be given should reimburse the speaker.

Steve Ogden (Area Sec) reported that he had asked Martyn Thatcher to attend the meeting to talk about the web pages but Martyn was unavailable. He added that Martyn should be able to attend in September and that he would reissue the invitation.

Steve Ogden (Area Sec) asked if the discussion on the BMFA Web pages about CH64 interference were valid.

Chris Bromley (Tech Sec) said that although very rare some disruption on CH 64 can be found on certain sites, but that the use of a Dual Conversion receiver should eliminate any problems encountered.

Roy Allam(Area Ach Sch Co-Ord) said that he was aware of 2 examiners with Non Affiliated Clubs that has yet had not been ratified. He would write to the clubs concerned to clarify matters.

The Meeting ended at10.34pm.These minutes are provisional until approved at the next meeting 17/09/02
