1) APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
Geoff Pomfret sent his apologies for not being able to attend.
2) CORRESPONDENCE
Steve Ogden (Area Sec) has received a letter giving details of the venue and
date of the Wright Challenge for 2004.
3) MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING 21/10/03 and AGM 9/12/03
These were proposed as a true record by CCMAA, seconded by Sale MAC
Passed unanimously.
4) MATTERS ARISNG
Mike Colling (Area Delegate) stated that 500 dart kits had been sent out to
a Dartford girl's school.
Chris Bromley (Area Chairman) reported that the new general manager was now working in the office and would take over his full responsibilities when the CEO leaves later in the year. He added that the exec. Where still looking into the setting up of a County based structure (for funding purposes only). As well as this everything seems to be on track for a return to Barkston heath of all the events that are normally held there.
5) OFFICERS REPORTS
Chris Bromley went on to say that he had taken on the responsibilities of Hon
Sec until the next AGM. This was due to the resignation of the elected Hon Sec.
Roy Allam (Area Ach Sch Co - Ord.) stated that he was still amazed by the way that some clubs filled in their affiliation forms. Roy asked the meeting to consider the addition of a FW qualification for one of our ACE's Richard Budd.
This was proposed by FCMFA and seconded by CCMAA

This was to be put to Area's Council for approval.

Keith Barker (NW Area Webmaster) reported that we now had a functioning website, which can be viewed at the following address. Bmfa-nw.org anyone wishing for items to be included on the site was to send it to Keith.
6) COUNCIL MINUTES & AGENDA
10/01/04 Full Council Meeting David Lloyd Jones (Area PRO) gave a briefing on
what took place the most salient point of which were,
1, BMFA have a new PRO in Tony Baker.
2, Council granted a £5,000 contingency fund for BMAC. Will now take place
at the NEC in July.
3, The bodies representing space modelling are no longer to be included in the
FF Technical Committee.
4, Team travel funding for European Championships approved.
5, FF Tech Comm. given £500 to fund the FF Forum.
6, Top Gun Competition approved as official BMFA event.
7, CRB can now be done through the office at no cost to the candidate.
Area's Council Agenda 7/02/04
The agenda was discussed and guidance given to the delegate.
7) BMAC
Sue Reeves (Area Ed Co-Ord) asked for volunteers for the event at the NEC on
the 10th July. She added that their was to be a co-ordinators meeting on the
21st of February but that she was unable to attend. Mike Colling (Area Delegate)
said that he would be present.
8) NW AREA INDOOR R/C FLY - IN
DLJ reported that after some negotiating he had been able to secure the use
of Shawbury for several indoor fly-in.. This would cost us £150 each time
but we would have the gate money to offset these costs.

9) NW AREA RC FLY-IN
There was a general discussion on the matter mainly concerning the direction
that the event should follow. The meeting felt that perhaps a Scale Fly-In would
be better received, and that a move to a more southerly venue could attract
flyers from outside of the Area as well. DLJ said that he had somewhere in mind
and that he would make enquires. Steve Ogden (Area Sec) stated that he knew
of 2 venues near to where he lived that may have possibilities and that he too
would enquire.

10) TROPHY FOR BMFA TOP GUN UK 2004
Steve Ogden asked the meeting to consider the donation of a trophy for the forthcoming
BMFA TOP GUN UK event. After a lively discussion John O' Donnell produced a
box with several "as new" trophies for the meetings consideration.
Having chosen one it was decided that it should be awarded for the "Golden
Era" class. Another trophy was also picked out to become the new award
for the proposed "Scale Fly - In.
The meeting wanted a vote of thanks recorded for the donation of the trophies by John O'Donnell.
11) AOB
DLJ brought the meetings attention to the recent court case where a pilot had
crashed someone else's jet aircraft. This had resulted in him being sued for
damages. Which were awarded against him. DLJ thought that this set a very disturbing
precedent for everyone flying another person's model. Chris Bromley said that
this was not the case, a precedent was only set if the case went to appeal.
The meetings ended at 11.00pm
