Matters Arising
SR stated that she would not be returning all the stock of saleable goods, but would discuss this further with the office, CB now had some doubts on the insurance cover of unaffiliated groups of members and would look again at this. CB noted that CAP 658 is soon to refer specifically to jets and that after 30 April EU law requires any model aircraft over 20 kilos must have third party insurance. Also likely that gliders over 20 kilos will soon need a CAA exemption certificate.
CB to contact G Pomfrett again re Eddie Riding before the next meeting.
Officer's Reports
CB reported a visit to Kendal and will give a talk to Barrow next Tuesday. Noted that main concerns were safety matters.
Noted that the stand will be at Haigh Hall LMA event.
Education - need volunteers for NEC on 16 & 17 July. B Aerospace are supporting BMAC again this year and have paid the office £10k for sponsorship. RA noted that it had been confirmed that all requests for examiners tests must be passed through the respective area.

Council Agenda
Areas Council meeting 5 Feb.
P Heckles concerns were voiced and PH assured the meeting that he would not be taking B tests himself with own commercial students.
Queen Victoria Park funding was deferred to full council meeting.
Concept of "C" certificate was well received and a draft aerobatic test is being considered. The committee was encouraged to continue to pursue the concept of Senior Chief Examiners, the re-testing of A,B and E certs being a useful role for them.
Agenda -Technical Council 5 March
No instruction given to the delegate. It was noted that the 500 grm limit in the proposed bye laws is to be discussed in depth. Free flight concerns were mentioned. Noted that the hope is to allow more flying of silent flight and try to isolate regulation of gliders and electric from IC power.

Area Fly-in and competitions
DLJ stated that indoor is OK as planned. No tables organised and can the meeting agree to fund these. KB stated that not unreasonable for ask people to bring their own. CB suggested that we do nothing for the first meeting and see how it goes.
DLJ suggested Shawbury again for the power fly-in. DLJ was asked to investigate reduced restrictions on numbers etc.
