Minutes of the previous meeting
Fylde Coast proposed and Rochdale seconded that the minutes of the Annual General
Meeting for 2004 are approved. Carried by an unanimous vote
Matters Arising
None
Officer's Reports
Chris Bromley, Area Chairman, reported that it had been a busy year both for
himself and the area. Talks had been given to several clubs and the Eddie Riding
and indoor events had been very successful.
Mike Colling, Area Vice Chairman, noted that it had been a year of interesting
meetings and enjoyed assisting with the Eddie Riding event.
Derek Gilbert reported on his year as Secretary and informed the meeting that
if there were no volunteers he was prepared to continue in the post for a further
two years.
Steve Ogden, Area Delegate, reviewed his year representing the Area at the BMFA
meetings. He also noted that both he and Sue enjoyed manning the stand and looked
forward to raising money for the area next year.
Sue Reeves, Area Education Co-Coordinator, reported that there was little to
do during the year, but had been fully employed on the stand both within the
area and outside.
Joe Flyn, Area Free Flight Secretary, noted that it had been a sad year with
the death of Brian Nicholson. The field was difficult to use with it now full
of fence rails and barbed wire. He was actively looking for a new site and noted
that there were still only seven or eight regular flyers in the area competitions.
David Lloyd-Jones, Area PRO, reported on his year and noted his disappointment
with the washout at Shawbury.
Derek Gilbert reported on the area finances, and drew the meetings attention
to the surplus earned from sale of goods of £319 which helped to provide
a surplus for the year of £1,033. Southport proposed and Fylde Coast seconded
that the meeting accept the audited accounts. The meeting approved the audited
accounts for the year with a unanimous vote.
A written report from Eric Clark was read to the meeting recording the success
of the Eddie Riding meeting at Woodvale.
Keith Barker offered to maintain the web site for another year and reported
that the Rochdale indoor meetings had been very popular.
Roy Allam, Area Achievement Scheme Co-ordinator, noted that the area now has
over 150 club examiners and despite the sad loss of Bert Caton, the Area Chief
Examiners had found no difficulties in fulfilling the requirements of the scheme,
and thanked them for their enthusiasm.
Bury proposed, Timperley seconded and the meeting voted unanimously to accept
the Area Officers reports.
Area Chief Examiners Reports
Tom Anyon, Richard Budd, and David Lloyd-Jones; Ray Jones, Bill Cowell and Andy
Ellison, all reported/had their reports read to the meeting detailing their
activities in the year.
Southport proposed, Rochdale seconded and the meeting voted unanimously to accept
the Area Chief Examiners' reports.
Election of Officers
As all retiring Officers were prepared to continue in office and there was no-one
wishing to stand against them, the following were all re-elected by unanimous
vote of the meeting to hold office until the 2007 AGM:
