Matters Arising
It was agreed to fund food for 120 people at the "Roadshow".
It was noted that we needed more detail on the web site regarding area meeting address.

Officer's Reports
The Treasurer confirmed that he had received the area grant, which this year totalled £2,319.76.
PRO noted that he had given a club talk to Chester and had taken "B" tests at Mid Cheshire and hoped they would affiliate soon.
The ASC noted that Ray Jones had questioned the selection of other ACEs to take tests in "his area" . Roy stated that he had explained to Ray that ACEs do not have their own area and it is up to the scheme coordinator to request the ACE that he considers would best for that occasion.
The Education Coordinator reported that there were 35 entries for the challenge from the N W area and volunteers were needed.

Council Agenda
Full Council minutes 6th May.
The minutes of the meeting were reviewed and discussed.
The principle topics discussed were:
The council had voted for I member I vote for the election of officers, thus giving country members a franchise. Voting forms to be circulated in BMFA News.
The meeting failed to understand the purpose behind proposal (20) regarding correct terminology with the media. The Chairman agreed and was surprised that the proposal was passed and yet afterwards the proposors were asked to explain their proposal in more detail !
The description of the Airprox near London City airport gave rise to some discussion. It was noted that the clubs actions defused what could have been a very serious situation and the meeting felt that this could be publicised more , say in the BMFA News, as a reminder to members and clubs of their responsibilities.
Areas Council meeting Agenda 10 June 2006
Whilst the agenda appeared lengthy, the majority of the items referred to the proposed amendments to the Heli A & B tests already approved by the area and to formally approve the Achievement Scheme Standards Documents which the meeting had no amendments to offer.
(13) CB noted this was only to ensure the title of "qualified instructor" required a "B" certificate.
(26) CB stated that this item to discuss Beaulieu MFC was only to discuss the need for a better method of acknowledging user groups.
As the meeting did not disagree with any agenda item no specific voting directions were given to the delegate.

Area Fly-in and competitions
DLJ noted that response was poor for Shawbury It was agreed that we should try to have leaflets to hand out for all area events at the Roadshow meeting.
It was noted that the 24 September fly in at Stoke is unlikely to need funding.
Examiners Meeting
RA discussed the need for two meetings, Heli and Fixed Wing
Will we as an area be given some guidance as to how the meetings should be conducted?
It was noted that Southern and Western areas will be having examiners meetings soon and it was agreed that we should wait and see how they went before any planning decisions taken. It was agreed that we do have a need for a Heli meeting, preferably no later than the autumn.
It was agreed to discuss this further at the next area meeting.
Online Subscriptions
CB informed the meeting that this was being looked at. Cost appeared to be prohibitive, secure web sites etc. There was some concern as to how club secretaries could ensure members had joined, but the meeting was told that if we did go ahead it would only be for country members.
Any Other Business
None

The meeting closed at 10.32

These minutes are provisional until approved at the next meeting
